INZ have recently updated our guidance to immigration officers regarding visitor visa durations.
The new guidance recommends a three-month stay duration as a starting point for consideration for offshore general visitor visa applications, provided the applicant has not spent more than nine of the past 18 months in New Zealand. This is consistent with the visa duration granted to visitors from most visa waiver countries.
Immigration officers can provide different durations, depending on each applicant’s individual circumstances.
If you are seeking longer visa durations, you will need to detail the reasons for this in your applications. This will be considered as part of the visa application assessment process.
